The Granite Butterfly: A Poem in Nine Cantos
Published in Hardcover by Natl Poetry Foundation (January, 1995)
Authors: Parker Tyler and Michael Fournier
Average review score:

a great gay epic revived
Parker Tyler's 1945 epic poem, The Granite Butterfly, was hailed by William Carlos Williams as "the best long poem in English since The Waste Land." This beautiful facsimile edition includes the important reviews (by Williams, Marius Bewley & others) and correspondence concerning the poem (with, for example, Bewley, Williams, Ezra Pound & Kenneth Burke), as well as a charming introduction by Charles Boultenhouse, Tyler's partner, exploring the poem's central theme: his lifelong fetish for the matinee idol Carlyle Blackwell and its grafting on to the poet's Oedipus complex.

Mind Blowing
One of the finest literary works of the twentieth-century, lovingly reprinted in this edition. An epic about cinema and sexuality and what it is to be human. The accompanying essays are priceless.

His: 30 Erotic Tales Written Just for Him
Published in Paperback by Pretty Things Press (01 January, 2003)
Authors: Alison Tyler and Thomas Roche
Average review score:

A hot collection of erotica by two masters
I found the stories in this book universally hot -- most of them are short, and easy to finish in one sitting whether you're with a lover or by yourself. Very hot scenarios, including such things as a college girl who dresses up in her roommates lingerie and ends up getting frisky with her boyfriend, a couple who makes love at the symphony, and a girl who likes to ... using, believe it or not, her washing machine. Lots of other fun stories, all with a light, playful and sexy tone.

Perfect Fantasy Fuel for Anyone...
This collection of 30 stories is written directly to a male reader and is filled with the sort of fantasies that would delight any guy. From the very start of the book ("Every Friday Night"), featuring a tantalizing threesome outdoors, all the way to "While She Was Dancing" (about doing a roommate's boyfriend, the stories are super-sexy, super-hot... just plain super. Even though the stories ARE written to a male "you", most women would enjoy them, as well. Even better, buy it for a boyfriend/husband/lover and read them out loud to him. The stories are from a girl to a boy, so it would work perfectly. However, I think you'll have to stop often, if you know what I mean. ;)

Amazing Stories!
I first read Carol Tyler's comics in the Twisted Sisters collections, and immediately tracked down The Job Thing...I'm so glad that there's a new book coming out - I've been waiting patiently for several years! Keep writing the good stories, Carol!

Don't let the boss catch you reading it!
Yeah, I wrote this book about 10 years ago but it still holds up. I know this because I when I lend people my only copy, it brings out chuckles and commiserations. It's money well spent, so fork over your paycheck and enjoy.
If you like my voice about employment, watch for my new book coming out soon from Fantagraphics. It will cover just about everything else, and will all be drawn by hand, as usual, with real art materials. Wow. ct

A unique way to step into reading....
My four year old son and I really enjoyed this book. There is a simpler text on the top of the page and a wordier one at the bottom. At first the parent read it all and grdually the child will read the simpler text at top. A unique way to step into reading! My little guy especially enjoyed finding the little duck hidden on each page. I also got a sticker book version.

A fun get -ready -to- read book
My four year old son and I so enjoyed this bright, happy book. I like the format with the simple sentences on top that the child eventually can read and the wordier text at the bottom for the parent which makes the story interesting. My little guy like the duck hiding on each page. Some took some looking to find much to his delight.

The Plant Hunters
Published in Paperback by The Lyons Press (01 July, 1997)
Author: Tyler Whittle
Average review score:

A fast paced overview of horticultural collecting
In the wake of reading ORCHID FEVER, I looked for other books that dealt with the plant hunters -- particularly of the 19th century. What I found was this wonderful book that is even broader in scope, providing a fast paced review of highlights in mankind's never ending task of collecting, naming and growing plants. The author does not try to present only sensationalized material, and doesn't try to be "complete," but instead gives a wonderful and highly readable overview of the field. Highly recommended.

The triumphs and disasters in plant hunting
This exciting and in depth book contains excellent information on the many exploits of plant hunters around the world. It recites tales of both failures and successes. The author has a talent for weaving these incredible tales into stories you won't soon forget.

Plugly, the Horse That Could Do Everything

Plugly The Horse that could do everything
While at a Horse Show this summer in Cleveland, OHIO I came across this book in soft cover and just re- published by the illustrator Barbara Tyler. I met the author at the event because the show was giving a Plugly Award to a horse that had distinguished itself. I read the book and was very pleasantly surprised by what I found. The story carried a message that all children need to understand. And with the lovely illustrations, which hide a Jack Russell in each for the kids to find as the story is read to them, the lesson is easily learned. The story is an endearing one that I have seen often at the stables. A good read for young readers.

The, in publish, book that could do everything.
This wonderfully written book is the ugly duckling story for children who love horses. With a cast of talking horses and diverse young children this beautifully illustrated book brings Plugly, the hero of the story, to a winning dressage ending. Make sure you and your kids look out for the hidden Jack Russel Terrier on every page.

Residents Manual of Medicine
Published in Paperback by BC Decker (April, 2001)
Authors: Balamurali K. Ambati, W. Tyler Smith, and Marie T. Azer-Bentsianov
Average review score:

One of the best Intern/Resident medical handbooks
This is a wonderful book. It is written in a conversational, very readable format, yet is succinct with its information. I have looked at/own most of the big name handbooks (Wash man, Ferri's, On call series) and I think I like this one the best. It does not pack as much info as wash. man. or Ferri's but it is much easier to read and I dare say you would remember more information because of this. It was written by IM residents for residents and I have an easier time relating to the authors and thus the information because of this.

It is also available in Palm format ...
Exact same as the book, minus a very few pictures.

Great work!

Excellent for Interns/Med Students
This book is exactly what I needed, but didn't have, all of my last year as an intern. It cuts to the point and is pretty comprehensive. Much better organized than the Washington Manual for floor & ICU medicine.
